STIHL TIMBERSPORTS® COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear TIMBERSPORTS® fans,
We today regret to announce the cancellation of this year’s European Trophy and the Individual World Championship, due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases globally. Subsequent governmental restrictions to fight the virus in Germany have made the staging of the two events impossible. We had planned to hold the events in Munich, Germany, to bring together Europe’s and the world’s logger sports elite as the concluding flagship competitions to the international TIMBERSPORTS® season. The decision for cancellation has been taken in consideration of the health and safety of all athletes, partners and employees.
The European Trophy was due to take place on Sunday 8th November, at the Bavaria Film Studios in Munich, Germany, like the successful Four Nations Cup earlier this year, which observed a proven and tested hygiene protocol without a live audience. The European Trophy was intended to serve as the qualifying competition for next year’s World Trophy. New qualification details will follow in due course.
The Individual World Championship had replaced the cancelled World Championship event originally due to take place in the Partille Arena in Gothenburg and would have been staged at the same location in Munich on Sunday 29th November.
We hope to bring you thrilling international TIMBERSPORTS® competitions again when it is safe to do so.
